(My mom and I down by the Old Mill) Josh and dad were golfing on Saturday so we spent the day shopping and enjoying the beautiful weather! Church on Saturday night was life-changing....we knew God had us in Bend for a reason (even beyond visiting the ones we love)! We also had the privilage of spending time with some of our great friends after church....good times!Monday, April 28, 2008

April and 80 degrees
We'll take it!
We spent our weekend taking advantage of the incredible weather!
On Friday we ventured out to Home Depot where we bought ourselves a Cub Cadet lawnmower. Josh then proceeded to use his new toy.

Yesterday we ate lunch outside at Lucious in downtown Walla Walla.
Then we rode our bikes to Brights' Candies for some very delicious and inexpensive ice cream!
Then we continued on our super fun bike ride.
Later on we visited Home Depot again to buy supplies for Josh to rebuild the old trailor he tore apart earlier in the day.
(this day was apparently too fun for pictures!)
Today after church we decided to take the four-wheeler and dirtbike up into the mountains. Oh my was it a great decision! This time I was on the quad and Josh was on the bike. We rode up the mountain roads through mud and remanents of snow. It was fantastic!

Tonight we barbecued, just to make sure we got as much out of the great weather as possible!

Wonderous Spring Vacation!
Last Thursday evening we drove to Portland for some excellent food and a good night's sleep before our much anticipated weekend at the beach with mom and dad Hoffman. We had dinner at PF Changs...it was oh so yummy!
On Friday morning we woke up to a snowy sky in Portland, therefore we were not in a hurry to get to the beach (where it was also snowing). We went to Starbucks to spend time with the Lord (that's the first coffee shop we've sat down in together since we got married...I think). Then we went to the biggest toy store we've ever laid eyes on (see below).
Josh had never seen such a marvelous display of ATVs, bikes and jet skis! He's convinced that next time we set foot in that toy store we will be taking a toy home with us. Before heading to the beach we visited Nordstrom and had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory!
Ah...the beach! (Newport to be exact)
Look at him jump! No, we didn't hide a springboard under the sand.
Beautiful! See that crazy hail storm coming?
Windblown and so seriously happy to be at the beach!
That's me and Josh above, if you can't tell.
Mom and dad walking down the beach...we love them so much!
Dad told Josh that they had to touch the rocks in order to say that they'd walked the full distance of Agate Beach. Josh took him seriously.
Doesn't mom look beautiful and happy!
Me and mom!
The addicting Disney jigsaw puzzle. I've never enjoyed a puzzle so much! So fun!
The completion of the puzzle.

It was a beautiful weekend at the beach! We saw it all...sun, rain, hail, snow, and of course, wind. The four of us have such a great time together!
Every time I go to the beach I am reminded of how GREAT God is! It blows my mind how that much water stays contained, how God created everything to work together, all perfectly for a purpose. It's amazing how every single sunset is unique. It's incredible how many grains of sand are on that one beach, yet how God's thoughts toward me are as many as all the grains of sand in the whole world! Those three thoughts alone are enough to keep me standing in awe of God for the rest of my life!
